Fun Stuff for our Stay at Home Superheroes

Some of our younger children might be back to school or pre-school and others looking forward to soon being back in the classroom in the coming weeks but Deirdre from Wicklow Child and Family Project knows that parents are still working so hard on keeping our children safe, active and busy while managing so many other responsibilities.

This week we have a variety of activity ideas for families to take into account good or bad weather and all sorts of interests!

Take advantage of a fine afternoon and enjoy a nature walk scavenger hunt! This activity can be done in most green areas so get those boots and coats on and get outdoors!

This one will need help from a grown up but this is a project that can entertain while making, educate for the spring about the bird life in your area and also help the environment so really worth the time if you have the tools and materials to hand!

The colours and sounds used in this next activity might suit some younger children and can be done easily at home on a wet or cold day!

This recipe is designed for those who might like the idea of baking but who mightnt have lots of equipment at home. It used a spoon for all measurements and the easy to follow guide should be easy to follow for people who speak any language.

Ever wanted to try yoga but didnt know where to start? This fun guide to some basic poses will help stretch out parents and children with tonnes of extra benefits while also being lots of fun. There are links on the final page of this document for further yoga lessons if you get to like it!

We are hopefully near the end of pandemic restrictions with the roll out of vaccines and the reduction in numbers. In the meantime, please continue to follow the guidelines and continue the really hard work that you all have been doing over the last 12 months.

Most of all, please enjoy and stay safe!!
